Storing everything in its proper place can be tricky in any home. In some cases you may have the perfect place for everything and storage is a cinch. In others, you may have an excess of sneakers, pants, knickknacks, or anything else, and it's tough to put everything away.
Sometimes excess stuff is the reason there isn't enough room. Eliminating clutter and getting rid of the unnecessary makes it much easier to keep a house neat and organized. The other side of the equation is having the right organizational supplies, or installing more cabinetry where you genuinely need more space. Here are three ideas for organizing common problem areas.
1. Install Tension Rods in Your Supply Cabinet
A tension rod in a supply cabinet works well for cleaning supplies that tend to clutter. You can hang the cleaning supplies up by their triggers, keeping them off the cabinet floor. The space at the bottom of the cabinet is freed up for laundry detergent, dishwashing detergent, sponges, brushes, and more.
2. Use Pegboard Organizers in Kitchen Drawers
Pegboard organizers in kitchen drawers help sort and store many items. Glass bowls and dishes can be placed on edge in a drawer, divided by the pegs in a pegboard organizer, instead of stacked. The pegs keep everything secure so dishes don't rattle into each other.
3. Add a Rotating Tray in Your Refrigerator
A rotating tray in the refrigerator means you don't have to pull twenty jars out to get to the mustard. Like a rotating spice rack, you can place condiments, salsa, butter, and small storage containers on a rack you can spin to find what you need.
