This Hingham family came to Transitions for the materials and the install across three connected spaces, the kitchen, the fireplace room next door, and a powder room down the hall. The cabinetry, stone, tile, fixtures, and finishes all came through us, and our team handled the installation.

The kitchen carries the bulk of the work. Warm greige Tedd Wood perimeter cabinetry wraps three walls, broken up by a paneled refrigerator and a custom Tedd Wood hood with a white oak band that picks up the island below. The island is white oak in a soft natural finish, topped with a calacatta-veined quartz that runs long enough to seat four and still leave room for prep. The same quartz carries onto the perimeter counters, with a stainless farmhouse sink set under a wide bank of windows and a handmade-look subway tile running floor to ceiling on the cooking wall. White oak floating shelves and a wall-mount pot filler round out the working zone. Bosch double wall ovens, a gas cooktop, and a microwave drawer in the island handle the cooking. Brushed black hardware, brass-and-white cone pendants over the island, and a gold linear chandelier in the dining area give the space its jewelry.

The fireplace room sits just off the kitchen. The original masonry fireplace was kept in place and dressed with a custom blackened-steel surround framed by a fresh white mantel. Deep chocolate walls turn the surround and the artwork above it into the focal point of the room, balanced by warm wood floors and a sputnik chandelier overhead.

The powder room is small and confident. A floating vanity in charcoal Dekton holds a matte black vessel sink with a matching black faucet, finished with a beaded oil-rubbed bronze mirror and a one-piece toilet. White walls keep it gallery-clean so the stone and the sink do the work.
