This Hingham family came back to us a year after we did their upstairs bath, this time with a bigger vision for the first floor. To give the kitchen the space it deserved, we removed a hallway running to the backyard, relocated and reconfigured the first floor bath, moved the laundry, and shifted the staircase to the second floor. All designed and built as one project.
We replaced the old recessed side entry with a full mudroom addition, taking the structure down to the foundation, pouring new footings, and adding radiant floor heat, Mouser cabinetry in Twilight blue-gray, white beadboard, custom cubbies, and a patterned porcelain tile floor.
The kitchen pairs white Mouser perimeter cabinetry in the Plaza Door style with a sage green island in the same line. Silestone Calacatta Gold counters run throughout. The backsplash is a soft gray picket tile, and brass pendants and sconces tie the room together. An Elkay workstation sink sits under the window, with a Thermador range, integrated paneled refrigerator, and a beverage station built into the island.
The half bath and laundry share a single space behind a relocated entry door. Tedd Wood cabinetry in a morning mist maple stain anchors the room, paired with a quartz counter and a watercolor fish wallpaper that gives the room its personality. Brass hardware and sconces carry through from the kitchen.
Materials, cabinetry, and finishes were all designed and built by one team from the first sketch to the final walkthrough. Schedule a showroom visit to start your own project.
